Your artwork is crumpled?
DON'T FEAR THERE IS A SOLUTION!
It is difficult to remove the creases as the fibers may be damaged. However, here is a method that will help lessen the impact.
What we need for this are:
- Iron
- Spray bottle with (preferably distilled) water
- cotton cloth
1. Lightly spray the cotton cloth and, if necessary, also carefully the back of the artwork (at the point of the folds) with distilled water.
!DANGER! Work very carefully here, otherwise it can damage the watercolor paints.
2. Place the paper between absorbent material or the thin cotton cloth
It is important that the absorbent paper or cloth is white and without structure, since the structure pattern or its imprint can be printed on our wet watercolor.
3. Set the iron on low heat.
Too much heat can dry out the paper, making it brittle and yellowing from light burns.
4. Press the iron between paper or fabric against the work piece.
Once the iron has heated up, press it against the cloth-wrapped artwork and move it across the surface as you would iron a piece of clothing.
Of course there are other methods as well, but this seemed the most appropriate to me. But it can happen that the 1st time it doesn't work, so it's good to practice the method with a scrap of paper before going over to the artwork.
