Dad Emperor Penguin (Aptenodytes forsteri) has the difficult task of protecting the egg 62 to 66 incubation days between its legs. If the egg touches the ice it dies instantly, so he must fast all this time until female came back to relieve him in breeding


Habitat: It has a circumpolar distribution in the Antarctic almost exclusively between the 66° and 77° south latitudes and is the only penguin species that breeds during the Antarctic winter.


Feeding: Its diet consists primarily of fish, but also includes crustaceans, such as krill, and cephalopods, such as squid


Conservation Status: Near Threatened (NT).
