The Glittering-bellied Emerald (Chlorostilbon lucidus) is found in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay and also in Uruguay. The size of the males can be up to 9-10 cm, but the females 7,5-8,5cm. Their weight can be up to 3,5-4,5gr, which is suprizing compared to their size. On their menu there are flowers such as the Tabebuia, the Eucalyptus and the Jacaranda acutifolia. To get the natter they pierce into the base of the patals. It also feeds on fruits, insects ,that are caught by hawking in the air, and also spiders. Conservation Status: Least Concern (Ref.
