I let produce 10 exclusive prints of this cute watercolour for sale.

The Burrowing owl (Athene cunicularia) lives in caves in the ground up to one meter below the ground. The species forms loose colonies of a maximum of 12 breeding pairs. They bring feces from other animals near the cave. Thus, they lure many insects to the nest, where the owl covers its need for proteins by breeding. Be careful, if you get close to their nests, they become aggressive.Habitat: North and South America. Soil inhabitants mainly in semi-deserts and steppe areas.

Feeding: Eat large beetles, insects, small mammals, sometimes frogs and smaller birds.
Size 19-26 cm, weight 140-200 gr.

Conservation status: Not endangered (LC = Least Concern)
