Size 76 x 56 cm
Medium Watercolour

On my last trip to Argentina, I visited the Natural Reserve "Costanera Sur" in Buenos Aires, where these juggling Nanday Parakeets (Nandayus nenday) and with a mischievous smile made a feast by feeding local fruits and seeds. Small numbers of feral Nandays have established themselves in Buenos Aires in Argentina but they are endemic from southeastern Bolivia, Brazil (southern Mato Grosso), northern Argentina, Chaco Formosa, and central Paraguay.
Nandays are extremely intelligent birds. They are capable of learning tricks, mimicking sounds, and learning a small vocabulary and ruin the harvest of the farms, so they are a real headache for many farmers.

Mature birds average 310 – 320 mm (or approx 12.5 – 13 inches) in length
Weigh between 140 – 147 g

Conservation Status: Least Concern (Ref. IUCN)

This Watercolour artwork can be framed and delivered, considering an extra cost.
