This is the Califoria Condor (Gymnogyps californianus). With this painting I want to remind people that there are only left around 200 wild condors of this type. This is because of poaching, habitat destruction and lead poisoning as condors scavenged for carrion containing lead shots! It's one of many animals that suffer from human horrible actions...it was also part of a competition that a group of people from a conservation project for these condors, did to remind the poeple of this tragedy. I did nt win it but do not care if I did because the most important for me is to share this with the rest of the world.
