This female gray harrier (Circus cinereus) is a sedentary South American bird of prey from the marsh harrier family. This bird feeds on rodents and birds, especially reptiles, amphibians and insects, and is found in various open habitats ranging from lowland swamps to the Andean Altiplano at a maximum altitude of 4000 meters.
