Everybody has a phase of everything. For example I have had many phases of my painting techniques. At the beginning of my art journey I sketched and painted a lot with colourful pencils, now I switched to watercolours and so on. But this painting is not about me, it is about the realisation that every single person in the world goes through the same as you, at some point in their lifes. So I never chose a specific type of leaf or a specific phase it was going through. All that mattered for me was to show this realisation, like a metaphor.
