I had he opportunity to observe these penguins several times on my trip to Patagonia. Punta Tombo is the most visited and largest Magellanic penguin colony in Argentina.
Thousands of Magellanic penguins come here every year to raise their young. These hardly shy animals breed in caves and have ‘nannies’ who look after the young while the parents swim 45km/h in the Atlantic Ocean to hunt marine animals.They are a very expressive species and this watercolour tries to bring that close.

Conservation status: least concern
